Help with some offline game installation ?

Hey guys,

So my friend has a really slow internet connection and I just wanted to perhaps install some games onto an external drive at my place, and then go over to his and essentially let him have those games in a pre downloaded form for him to play.

How would I go about doing that? If it’s a game such as KSP etc, that I already have downloaded on my computer, can I just copy and paste the files to another drive or do I have to download it again (totally fine as well)

When I go to his house, ideally I would like my external hard drive back, so how do I go about copying the games from the external hard drive to his main SSD on his computer?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Install the game on your computer.
  2. Copy the game folder to your hard drive.
  3. Copy the game folder to your friends steam game folder.
  4. Get friend to install game to that same steam drive folder.
  5. Steam will check for existing files, which you'll have transferred there.
  6. Enjoy!
