How to force update of game boxart?

by LivingStudent. Posted on Aug 02, 2020    2    11

I have Steam installed on two different computers with the same account. One computer has several games with new vertical boxart that the other computer is still showing the old horizontal boxart for the same games. Will this update at some point? Is there a way to check for artwork updates and force an update? The only option I can find is to create custom artwork, which is not what I'm looking for.

Delete library cache.

Thanks, that did it! There was apparently quite a bit of boxart that was out of date that all got updated.

It has always updated fine for me, so I never had to do it, but maybe it was bugged for you or something. Glad you fixed it.

Should be a folder in steam\librarycache\

Just delete the folder and everything should reset

Ok. So it's in steam\userdata\randomnumber\config\librarycache

Just delete the whole config folder. Things like your categories etc will get downloaded from the cloud
