Question about redeeming steam gift card

Hi, I live in myanmar. And I have no credit card to purchase games, so I rely on steam gift cards (from third-party country) to make a purchase.

Due to our country ip address is unknown, store currency is set to default (USD) . And i heard there's some changes to steam giftcard policy. So, Can i still redeem Singapore or Thailand giftcards and convert them to USD? Despite my region is mm and default currency is USD??

Since, USD giftcards are always out of stock in our country. What kind of giftcards can i redeem in my region? Please, help me. There's a game i like to buy in halloween sale.

Nope. The currency of the gift card MUST match that of the currency displayed on the Steam store.

You're so wrong. I am from a third world country and I buy us steam giftcards but my currency on steam is in rupees. It doesn't matter, the currency is converted

I literally quoted Valve's statement on the subject. Would you like to tell them they are wrong?

So, i can use USD giftcard?
Despite my region is in somewhere not USA.

According to the new rules, yes:

>Each Steam User Account is associated with a specific currency, which you can see in the top right corner of your Steam Client.

That is the currency you are assigned.

>Going forward, you may encounter an error if you try to activate a Steam Wallet Code issued in a different currency than the one of your Steam User Account.

Essentially meaning it MUST match the one assigned as above.

If yours is USD, any gift cards you use MUST be in USD.
