Right bumper only registering sometimes

I've had an Xbox one for about a year but didn't use it much, I've been using my controller a lot with my pc since about March and in the past few days I've noticed that the right bumper isn't working properly. Sometimes it will only work if I push it in really hard and sometimes it won't work if I push it too hard. I've opened the controller to get a better look and can't see anything broken, it looks and feels the same as the left bumper and it's definitely clicking down the button every time

Does anyone have any ideas as how to fix this or will I have to buy a new one?

You would have to solder on a new button. If you're not comfortable with soldering tight spots, I'd advise against it. If you are comfortable with that, it's a pretty cheap and simple fix, theres some good tutorials on Youtube

If you still have warranty, return it on that. If not, buy a new controller. If you plan on getting Series X on launch, get a cheaper controller, and stick with it till that comes out

Just my 2 cents

Yeah, I've got no idea how to solder. I mostly use it for pc, I guess I'll look for a new one, thanks

If you play PC i'd suggest looking at the Switch Pro controller. Has a lot of cool features and is more future-proof

Theres also a lot of other good wired controllers you can get for pretty cheap if you want to wait for a Series X controller

I'll look into those, thanks
